In 2013 Florida will celebrate its 500th anniversary and the Children’s Library will be presenting a program on the second or third Tuesday of each month from January through May. Each month we will visit a special Florida location with stories, songs, activities and crafts.
*Civil War Reenactment (1861 – 1864)
Saturday and Sunday, January 12 & 13, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Learn about Florida’s involvement in the Civil War by visiting live history presentations, watch the Battles of Gopher Hill and Ft. Myers as they are being reenacted and see displays of civil war memorabilia. This is an educational and fun event for the whole family.

Join the club! Students in grades K through 5 who are reading on their own can earn colorful embroidered patches for reading. Can you collect all four patches?
