NetLibrary®
provides ebooks of older standard titles. Our Library's collection of
includes over 27,000 ebooks, searchable from our catalog or
directly at the NetlLibrary®
website Over 600 titles
can be downloaded to PDF. Patrons can keep these PDF files indefinitely for personal
use.

All NetLibrary®
ebooks can be viewed or checked out with your sign in at the NetLibrary®
website -- the transactions are not recorded as part of your CCPL account.
To identify ebooks available for download, follow these steps after
signing in. If you do not
have a NetLibrary® account, contact any of our library locations and an
account can be set up for you. You will need your library card number
(i.e., barcode).
- At the Netlibrary® home page, click the eBooks link in the right-side box
labeled "In Our Collection"

The results show 27,441 ebooks, the total number in the CCPL collection.
To limit to downloadable PDF ebooks only, click "More Options" next to the
drop-down menu labeled "Limit by:"
- The next screen displays results of 688, meaning that the CCPL collection
of downloadable NetLibrary ® ebooks numbers 688 ebooks.
The screen also displays the language option, the date of publication
option, and the "Downloadable eBooks" option. Click the checkbox next to
"Downloadable eBooks" then click the "Limit" button.
To search within the
downloadable ebook titles, limit by publication date or sort by title, author, newest
publication date (which is 2002) or oldest publication date (1934). Or,
Use Advanced Search to search by author, title, keyword, etc. AND limit to
downloadable ebooks. (Of course, you may browse through the results of 15
titles at a time, if you wish).
- When you select a downloadable ebook and are ready to display the ebook,
click "Show Details." You search type (author, title, keyword,
etc. will be highlighted in yellow).

On the next screen, click "Check out and download
this book."

On the next screen, click the "Download this eContent" button.

You may get several messages while retrieving and authenticating the
PDF file. You may also get a message that indicates you do not have Adobe
Acrobat Reader 6 or higher. If you are sure that you do (for example, you
may have version 8 or 9, or you may have Adobe Digital Edition), click
the link that indicates that you are sure you have the correct software.
The contents will load soon afterwards.
- Once the PDF file is in your Adobe reader, you may keep the file
indefinitely for personal use.
