OTHER TYPES OF MATERIALS

Children's materials
In the first search box enter your author, title, keyword, etc. In the second search box, select Juvenile collection. Types of materials for children's have call numbers that help you identify reading and interest levels. For pre-school and early readers, call numbers are preceded by EASY READER. For older children, call numbers are preceded by J.

Young adult materials
In the first search box enter your author, title, keyword, etc. In the second search box, select Young Adult collection. Types of materials for young adults (roughly ages 13-18) have call umbers that are preceded by YA.

Large print books
All large print or large type books have LP at the beginning of the call number. Other than coming across large print books when searching, you can find all large print books in any of three ways: 1) You can search by author, title, subject, etc. and specific Large Print collection; 2) You can enter a call number search for LP, which will return all the large print books in call number order, or 3) You can search by Subject "Large type books" and retrieve and sort all the large print books.

NetLibrary ebooks
When you search by author, title, subject, etc. click the checkbox "Limit to NetLibrary ebooks," then search again. The results will only be NetLibrary ebooks. This is the most direct way to find NetLibrary ebooks, since the collection numbers nearly 30,000 titles, so browsing is almost impossible. If you only want hardcopy books in your result, use the drop-down menu (which displays "Entire Collection" by default) and select "Books" in addition to searching by author, title, subject, etc. This will limit your results to hardcopy books.

Audiobooks
When you search by author, title, subject, etc., select a collection so that your results will only be materials from that collection. For books on cassette and CD, select the collection "Audiobooks." You can also search "Audiobooks" to retrieve and sort all audiobooks on compact disc or cassette.

Downloadable audiobooks & ebooks
Do not use the catalog for finding downloadable media from OverDrive™ but go to our separate Digital Media Collection web site: http://digitalbooks.collier-lib.org,

Videos
When you search by author (actor, director, producer, etc.), title, subject, etc., select a collection so that your results will only be materials from that collection. For videos, select "Videos: DVD and VHS."

Foreign films by language
Use advanced search to find foreign films by language. (In this example do not use quote marks - they are used here for clarity only.)
In a "field" section of advanced search, make the field "Subject" and enter as text "foreign films". Enter a location if you wish. Select "videos" as the material type and highlight the language you want to use. Press or click the Search button. The catalog displays foreign films in your selected language. Note that some films may represent dialogue in the language you chose. The list will exclude dubbed or soundtrack languages that are optional features.

Music CDs
When you search by author (performer, conductor, etc.), title, subject, etc., select a collection so that your results will only be materials from that collection. For music CDs, select the collection "Music CDs."
