AVAILABLE MATERIALS
The Library loans books, audiobooks, videos (DVD and VHS), music CDs
and software programs on CD. Patrons must present their library card
for all borrowing transactions. Materials will not be loaned without
the patron's card, nor loaned to a patron using the card of another
patron.
Patrons are issued a receipt at the time of the borrowing transaction,
indicating date due of the materials. Different types of materials
have different
loan periods. Materials become overdue at the end of the due date.
Holidays during which the library is closed are not included in the
calculation of loan periods or return dates.
WHO MAY BORROW WHAT
- Cardholders 18 years of age and older may borrow all materials.
- Cardholders under 18 cannot borrow R-rated, unrated, or foreign
film videos.
- Cardholders under 17 can borrow non-juvenile materials. A permission slip signed by parents is required to borrow PG and PG-13 videos.
RENEWING MATERIALS
Except for videos (DVD & VHS), Readers Express books, and items with
outstanding requests, materials may be renewed two times. The renewal
period will be the same as that for which the item was originally
checked out. Renewal of materials may be made in person (with the material
in hand), at our online catalog via the web using My Account, or via
automated telephone.
RENEWING BY TELEPHONE
Library staff cannot renew patron materials by telephone. To renew
materials by telephone, call our computer directly at 593-7719, and
follow the automated instructions. Have the items you want to renew
and your library card available to expedite your transaction.
NOTE: The telephone renewal system processes one item
per call and requires input of bar code numbers. The Library strongly
urges use of the
My Account feature
of the web site for renewals.
RENEWING ON OUR WEB SITE
To renew materials through our web site, you will need to use your library account. You can access My Account from the library's
catalog
or directly.
RETURNING MATERIALS
Library card holders are responsible for all materials borrowed on
their card. Patrons receive a courtesy reminder of overdue items,
either by e-mail or computer-generated telephone voice message.
All materials, including audio and video, may be returned to any
library location regardless of where the material was originally
checked out in the Collier County library system.
OVERDUE FINES
A daily overdue fine is assessed, beginning the day after materials
are due.
Library card privileges are suspended when fines reach $10.00.
Fines must be paid in full before library card privileges are
reinstated.
For more information about fines and fees, visit the
Loan Periods, Fines & Fees
page.
Book drops are located at all libraries for returning materials
when the library is closed. If separate drops are available for
audio/video materials and books, please place only books in the book
slot and only videos and CDs in the audio/video slot.
REQUESTING MATERIALS
Materials presently on loan to another patron can be
requested in person or via the catalog. In the catalog, look for the
Request button next to the item. A limit of 6 (six) active requests
may be maintained at the same time. You will be notified by e-mail (if
you have selected this option in My Account) or computer-generated
phone call when your requested materials are available.
